Story 1 Part 1

PARTE 1

Corté el pastel. 

Feliz cumpleaños a mí pensé sin sonrisa. 

El pastel tenía un sabor amargo. Como mi vida. 

Pero, mañana será mejor. Mi celular sonó tres veces. 

“Dime,” dije.

“Hola, ¿Usted es Señor M?” la voz dijo. 

“No,” dije.

“¿Está segura?” 

Esperé un momento. “Sí, soy yo.” 

“Tengo unas malas noticias para usted.”

Note: I know that in stories and books printed in Spanish speaking countries, there usually aren’t quotation marks. I thought that I would isolate the learning point, which is learning Spanish, rather than a certain use of punctuation.
