It is time to have some great follow up works and activities in your classroom so that students know exactly what to do after your presentations.
Hi! I'm Bethany! I am a Lower Elementary Montessori Teacher and the owner of Parts of the Language, LLC!
Right now, I have three bundles:
Math Bundle
Language Bundle
Montessori Activities (Includes ALL of the Math and Language bundles PLUS cultural)
Math Bundle:
Mixed Math Equation Cards
Forty math cards to print and laminate for your students to use! These are for second and third graders because each card has one addition (mostly with carrying) equation, one subtraction (mostly with borrowing) equation, and one single digit multiplication equation.
Snake Game Addition Cards
20 Snake Game Addition Cards!
Print, cut, and laminate for your students to use with the snake game!
Parentheses Math Cards
20 math cards to practice solving with parentheses with the use of multiplication and addition.
Adding Three Numbers
Here are 20 adding three numbers with bead cards!
Adding three numbers is important to show the children before they learn how to carry while solving addition equations.
Place Value Cards
Montessori has many ways to practice Place Value, but I also like to have these cards out in order to really make sure that the students know where the ones, tens, hundreds, and thousands are.
All About Geometry
Here is a pdf download of how I present the geometry to my first, second, and third graders. This is broken down by weeks of the school year. Your works may have slightly different numbers for the lines, angles, etc.
If you want to purchase my full Lower Elementary Scope and Sequence, you can do so here.
Symbolizing Cards
100 color coded Printable Montessori Symbolizing Cards.
Perfect for Elementary 1 Montessori Classrooms. Students really enjoy the color coded system so they know exactly which card to choose.
I made this for my classroom because 1) I love symbolizing and 2) I was tired of always coming up with new symbolizing sentences for the students.
This is a digital product that you need to print and laminate yourself.
The Symbolizing Cards are included in the Montessori Activities by Parts of the Language, LLC hub, but you could also buy the cards separately for $8 here.
Language Bundle:
Brainstorm Writing
A PDF to print and download to have your students brainstorm before they write their fictional story.
They will brain storm the characters (main and supporting), two plots (to pick between), setting, rising action, climax, and resolution.
Genre Work
This genre work has some genres and definitions that the students can match up and write down. Download, print, cut, and laminate them to be used in your Montessori environment.
The Ladder
The students start at the bottom of the ladder with a 3 letter word. They need to then change ONE letter of the word to create a new word. They keep changing until the reach the top of the ladder!
Circle the Sight Word
In circle the sight word, you will see three words in each set. You will call out a word in the set and the student needs to circle it. I like to laminate them and use a dry erase markers so they are reusable.
Cards 1-5 are from a first set of 100 sight words and Cards 6-10 are from words 101-200.
Punctuation Works
Here are 7 Punctuation follow up works. I give the presentation for each of these and then the students complete the work. I print out the paper and laminate it. The students could write on it with dry erase markers to put the correct punctuation in, but I also have them write it in their language notebook or on a piece of writing paper.
Each one of the works isolate the difficulty, so if it is just adding a period, the letter is capitalized at the beginning. If it is for question marks, the rest of the sentence is correct, they are just adding a question mark.
I also include when each punctuation concept should be introduced to what grade level (or point that student is ready).
The Noun Family
Here is template for the Noun Family! Once you have introduced the noun, article, and adjective, students can create the noun family. The noun family is a great work to make to solidify the three grammar concepts.
Montessori Activities:
Includes ALL MATH AND LANGUAGE BUNDLE ITEMS PLUS THESE:
Layers of the Rainforest
The layers of the rainforest are perfect to use during the study of South America. Students lay out the four layers of the rainforest and research animals that live in each other.
Year Long Project: Rocks
A great way to structure a year in a Montessori environment is the have a year long project.
I haven't done a year long project every year that I have been teaching, but I have done a few. Here is my favorite: Rocks! There are 9 Activities to go with the 9 months of school about rocks.
Music Work
I made this music work in order to help my students learn how to read music so that if one day they play an instrument or join a choir, they will be able to read sheet music!
It goes through the notes for treble clef and bass clef. There are so printable musical items with their names like notes and their worth.
Music Note Pages
Here are six music note pages to print and laminate so that students can practice their notes with it. They will write the name of the note under the note.
Practical Life Checklist One and Two
Two Checklists for Practical Life activities. I feel like in the Lower Elementary, we sometimes skip over the most important elements of practical life learning. I created this first checklist with Early Childhood in mind, but I use it with my Lower Elementary Students, so that way the see how "easy" the tasks are to complete, so when they get to checklist two, they will want to complete them.
How I Teach Spanish in my Class
I am a Lower Elementary Montessori Teacher, but I really like to learn languages. I even have a Bachelor's Degree in Spanish. I like to teach the students that want to learn a second language, Spanish, but this method that I have created based on the Montessori Method, can work for any language.
Note: You do not need to know the WHOLE language to be able to teach it. Just exposing your students to a different language is a great start.
Spanish Lesson Preview
I have created this as a way for Lower Elementary Montessori students to learn Spanish, but this can be used for any children. I think it is important to at least expose the students to a language. Here is a preview of what the Spanish course would look like and the very first lesson I always teach. You many be thinking is it colors, or number, or how to say your name, or ask how others are, but it is not! I believe in starting with full sentences from day one of learning another language, so see which lesson I teach in Spanish first!
School Supplies in Spanish
I believe in learning the vocabulary of a language that is actually useful in your life. For students, school supplies are something they use daily, so they can say the words in Spanish for them as they use them.
This not only includes the vocabulary, but an explanation for the adult giving the lesson to understand the grammar behind Spanish, and how to present the lesson to the students.
Apple Slices
Here is a recipe for Apple Slices. It is great practical life skill to learn how to cook. It is also a great practical life skill to be able to communicate in Spanish. Even if you or your children/students don't know how to speak/read Spanish, they can try translating the recipe and ingredients so that they can bake the recipe. They can also watch the video (which is also in Spanish) and follow the steps from that. Maybe try guessing what is being said in the video based on what is being shown in the video.
You will also get any future products I decide to add to any bundle!
